Mengutip Soompi, FRIENDS merupakan lagu bergenre pop soul R&B dengan melodi yang manis dan ritme yang tenang. Liriknya mengungkapkan keinginan untuk berkembang dari persahabatan yang telah lama terjalin menjadi hubungan yang lebih dari itu.
